the crown jewel considering some of the amazing national parks i've been to in the past years, knowing that glacier national park was considered the crown jewel of national parks, i was undoubtedly excited to finally make my way here. given my last two parks on this trip was considerably impacted by late snow season, i wasn't sure how things would fare in this park that was farther north. luckily, the winter season ended at a normal
Grand Teton
Small and Majestic I didn't have a strong opinions of the Grand Tetons before deciding to include it on my northeast spring tour and I am glad i did! Since I was arriving in the late winter season, I wasn't sure how i would receive it given that i am not much of a winter activities kind of person. Within 24 hrs, i already had it in my head that i needed to return in the summer.
Yosemite
Winter Magic It wasn't my intention to visit Yosemite in the winter per say but alas, an extended winter meant considerable snow on the ground even at the end of April. Unable to hike or even snowshoe, I just focused on chasing photographic moments. Certainly a part of me enjoy being in the right place at the right time for an interesting photo but to be frank, my heart isn't into the nature/patience for landscape photography but
GrandCircle Trailfest
Vacation for adventurers For most people, running 3 half marathons in 3 days wouldn't probably be considered a vacation but for those that do enjoy that type of leisure, the folks at Vacation Races are doing a fine job catering to us! I think one of the main draws of trail running is being in nature and running to beautiful places and this particular festival delivered! I had signed up for this race almost 4 years ago
Badlands NP
In the 24 hours that I spent here, I have to frank and confess that it felt a bit too similar to a few of the other national parks I've been to. Because I had to get to specific destination by certain date, I opted to keep this visit short because of that similar feeling.
Tucson
I’ve heard many good things about Tucson before I eventually made my way there last winter. Like Florida, it’s a top destination for people migrating to warm weather and I can appreciate why. I didn’t spend too much time here but enough to know that I would revisit it in a heartbeat.
