Glacier National Park

the crown jewel considering some of the amazing national parks i've been to in the past years, knowing that glacier national park was considered the crown jewel of national parks, i was undoubtedly excited to finally make my way here. given my last two parks on this trip was considerably impacted by late snow season, i wasn't sure how things would fare

Grand Teton

Small and Majestic I didn't have a strong opinions of the Grand Tetons before deciding to include it on my northeast spring tour and I am glad i did! Since I was arriving in the late winter season, I wasn't sure how i would receive it given that i am not much of a winter activities kind of person. Within 24 hrs,

Yosemite

Winter Magic It wasn't my intention to visit Yosemite in the winter per say but alas,  an extended winter meant considerable snow on the ground even at the end of April. Unable to hike or even snowshoe, I just focused on chasing photographic moments. Certainly a part of me enjoy being in the right place at the right time for an interesting

GrandCircle Trailfest

Vacation for adventurers  For most people, running 3 half marathons in 3 days wouldn't probably be considered a vacation but for those that do enjoy that type of leisure, the folks at Vacation Races are doing a fine job catering to us! I think one of the main draws of trail running is being in nature and running to beautiful places and

Badlands NP

In the 24 hours that I spent here, I have to frank and confess that it felt a bit too similar to a few of the other national parks I've been to. Because I had to get to specific destination by certain date, I opted to keep this visit short because of that similar feeling.

Tucson

I’ve heard many good things about Tucson before I eventually made my way there last winter. Like Florida, it’s a top destination for people migrating to warm weather and I can appreciate why. I didn’t spend too much time here but enough to know that I would revisit it in a heartbeat.

Carlsbad Caves and White Sands

Yin and Yang I wasn't really planning on hitting these two spots as it was a bit out of the way on my route but I ran into a few people on a hike that raved about it. Granted, I made my decision not go out of the way based mostly on photos because really, dark caves wasn't really my things. Still,

Upstate NY Fall 2022

Fall Glory I did a quick road trip to upstate NY for a retreat and catch the fall colors. I rarely plan a trip around a specific season but since moving to the Midwest, it was on the back of my mind for a while since all my years in California didn't encourage thinking in seasons. Even though the trip was mostly

Guadalupe National Park

Small and Mighty After Big Bend NP, I stopped by a rather famous 'ghosttown' of Terlingua, which is about 30 west of the park. It definitely an interesting place with a very interesting cemetery  but probably not worth more than one visit! Unless you're spending a lot of time in Big Bend and need supplies and there are definitely good food options!

Big Bend

Unexpectedly Marvelous  I have friends in Texas that lived there all their life and have never visited Big Bend. I guess all the time I've spent on the road now means a 9 hour haul from houston isn't such a big deal. Anyway, it was peak season in Big Bend but it definitely didn't feel crowded at all by comparison to peak
